What matters
- Four days left for the MVE. From August 1, the value declaration can only be transmitted electronically through Mexico’s trade single window (VUTCE): the Eleventh Transitory allowance runs out July 31. If you have cargo in transit without a transmitted folio, that’s this week’s urgency: the step-by-step.
- Economy opened a sunset review of the antidumping duty on Chinese steel wire rod (DOF, July 23). If you import wire rod, the outcome decides whether the duty stays: worth checking your exposure now, not when it resolves.
- New antidumping investigation into beef tallow stearic acid from Argentina (DOF, July 24). It’s the start of a proceeding, not an imposed duty — but anyone importing that input should track it.
- NOM-022-ENER/SE-2025 published — energy efficiency and labeling for self-contained commercial refrigeration (DOF, July 23). If your product falls under it, the standard gets certified before clearance, not after.
- The peso held steady: Banxico’s FIX — the series published in the DOF and the one that applies to your customs entry — closed at 17.4635 on July 24.
