The foundation. Without it there is no formal importing.
Importers Registry (Padrón de Importadores)
Filed with the SAT. Some products (textiles, footwear, steel, chemicals) also require a sector registry.
Your product’s tariff code
The code that sets your duty rate and which permits apply. We review it with you.
Supplier invoice and packing list
With your company name, product description, quantities and weights. They have to match each other.

What almost nobody tells you about cost
- The supplier’s price is not the final cost. Freight, handling, duties, VAT, broker fees and trucking can add 30% to 60% on top.
- Since January 1, 2026, Mexico applies higher duties on 1,463 tariff codes for goods from countries without a trade agreement, China included. Check your tariff code before you buy.
- Negotiate FOB with your supplier, not CIF: you choose the freight and avoid destination charges that were never in their quote.
